Michael W. O'Shaughnessy
Michael W. O’Shaughnessy is senior vice president of Urner Barry and has been a market reporter of the chicken market for the firm since 1988.
Michael graduated from Upsala College, East Orange, New Jersey, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration. He joined Urner Barry in 1984 as a sales representative for Comtell, while holding the position of sales manager for Comtell.
Michael is also the editor of Urner Barry’s Weekly Insider’s Poultry Report.
Michael was a former president of the West Washington Market Men’s Club.
Michael resides in Brielle, NJ, with his wife, Kara, and three children.
Russell W. Whitman
Russell W. Whitman is vice president of the Poultry Division for Urner Barry and has reported the turkey market and mechanically separated poultry markets since 1989.
Russell graduated from Washington & Lee University, Lexington, Virginia, with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with special attainments in commerce. He started working for Urner Barry in 1986, joined the firm full time in 1987 and was initially involved with COMTELL sales and support. He also served as manager of the Instant News Department.
In addition to his primary market reporting responsibilities, Whitman is the editor of the Weekly Insider’s Turkey Letter, Urner Barry’s National Weekly Hatch Report, Weekly Insider’s Retail Report and is associate editor of the Weekly Insider’s Poultry Report and senior editor of Urner Barry’s Reporter Magazine.
Russ has two daughters, Sara and Lauren. He resides in Pine Beach, NJ.
James Serpico
James Serpico is a 2006 graduate of Ramapo State College in New Jersey and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in history.
His career with Urner Barry started in 2007 where he held an account manager’s position within the sales department.
In 2009, James entered into his current role at Urner Barry as a market reporter for the Poultry Division.
James' other responsibilities within the company include pre-production of Urner Barry’s Market Video, contributing writer for Urner Barry’s Reporter Magazine and assistant to the Marketing Department.
