Beef makes headlines as prices come off... 

Beef prices are declining, and it's catching headlines like this one: Your Steak is Getting Cheaper at the Supermarket

There has been more staffing at meat plants, meaning supplies are improving. Supermarkets are providing more discounts on rib-eyes, NY strips, and more. Urner Barry's latest Weekly Retail Summary shows price decreases on some beef items. 

But COMTELL is where the full story unfolds. The Choice beef cutout has been below year ago levels since April of this year. Top sirloin retail feature prices have decreased $0.52, or 7.85%, per pound from a year ago. Tenderloin prices have decreased $0.26, or 1.37%, per pound from feature prices a year ago. Also, T-bones are  $1.04, down 10.91%.
