"Watch Us Eat!" hosts Amanda Buckle and Lorin Castiglione welcome Urner Barry's Jim Kenny for a special "Watch Us DRINK!" episode. Tamworth Distilling in New Hampshire teamed up with the University of New Hampshire to put the state's invasive green crab population to good use in a special — and deliciously smooth — Crab Trapper Whiskey.

As an invasive species, European green crab can wreak havoc — both ecologically and economically. And according to the University of New Hampshire, there is "no strategy in place to control the populations of green crabs." In an effort to control the population, some folks — like Tamworth Distilling — are getting creative.

Tamworth Distilling's Crab Trapper Whiskey is made with a bourbon base that's "steeped in a custom crab, corn and spice blend mixture, best likened to a Low Country Boil." This tasty spirit was also featured in Food & Wine's 2023 Drinks Innovators of the Year.
