This episode of the SeafoodNews Podcast is brought to you by the Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers’ annual Wild Alaska Pollock meeting, taking place at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Seattle on September 28, 2023.
The Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers, also known as GAPP, is working to promote Wild Alaska Pollock in major whitefish markets around the world, with a focus on Europe, North America and Japan. Their goal is to educate both seafood buyers and consumers about the superior benefits of Wild Alaska Pollock.
The theme of this year’s Wild Alaska Pollock meeting is “The People Behind Wild Alaska Pollock: Real stories about the fish and fishery that drive global demand.” Attendees will get a first look at the new industry campaign, “Pollock People,” which gives a behind-the-scenes look at the lives and stories of those that live, love and work in the industry. Plus sit in on enlightening presentations and panels including a sports marketing panel featuring the representatives from the Seattle Kraken, Seattle Sounders, Seattle Mariners and the DubSea Fish Sticks...and watch celebrity chef Antonia Lofaso as she prepares a Wild Alaska Pollock dish live on stage that you'll get to try for lunch!
